Most Britons prefer internet to apply for loans

London (loans-bazaar) August 5, 2006 : A research done by Lloyds TSB revealed that almost 54 per cent of the Britons deal with their money through the internet to avoid personal interaction. 43 per cent people feel more comfortable for applying online, 32 per cent applies for overdrafts through the Internet, and the rest 32 per cent submits their application for credit cards through their computers at home.

According to Anita Hockin, head of internet, Lloyds TSB, money was one of the few subjects that many people still feel uncomfortable taking about, even with their bank. She further added that internet banking had become increasingly popular in recent years, not just because it was convenient, but because it gave people privacy when it came to managing their money.

She emphasized that online banking had its advantages and said that it was important that people would not end up burying their heads in the sand. MS Hockin advised that sometimes it could be worth picking up the phone or calling into a branch to talk through more complex matters especially if they have any particular worries.
